The UA and Actiu promote Corporate Social Responsibility of Family Businesses

The University in Alicante, through its chair of family Business, organizad a round table last month in March to discuss Corporate Social Responsibility, in collaboration with the AEFA (Association of Family Business in Alicante) and the sponsorship from Mercadona and the Caja Mediterranean.

At the meeting, which brought together more than 60 students, Corporations with regarding  Social Responsibility at province level, such as the Pascual Ros Aguilar Foundation – founder of the shoe company  Mustang, APSA Assocation for the Mentally Handicapped in Alicante and Actiu, were invited to  present  case Studies on CSR.

In respect to this, Mr Jesus Rodes, Director of the Foundation Pascual Ros Aguilar, explained the evolution of the social seal over its history, displaying the initiatives that the foundation has carried out with the objective of  continuing its social work.

Mr .Carlos Giner, Director of APSA, whose objective is to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities, outlining the achievements of the Institution and the challenges for the future.

Mrs Soledat Berbegal, Communications and Corporate Strategy Manager for Actiu, presented the various solidarity projects, sports, culture and respect towards the environment that Actiu undertakes with the concept of Social Responsibility. Furthermore, she reflected on the advantages and benefits brought to the company such as an enjoyable, friendly and healthy atmosphere, a sustainable environment for the employee. The facilities at Actiu Technological Park take advantage of the natural Light, generating clean energy and collecting rain water, all with productive and efficient Systems, respecting the territory and environment.; generating a sense of wellbeing for all employees, improving efficiency, brand image and International reputation. As summarized by Soledat in her paper "There is no more CSR in a company that converts work space into a place where the employee feels good and is able to grow both on a personal and professional level".

As a final point of this initative, the attendees enjoyed a tour of the facilities at Actiu Technological Park, on a very rainy but attractive day, and with great happiness for the Group of students from Alicante University that also participated in the guided tour.
