Millesime Madrid: fine cuisine and decoration in the largest gastronomic event in Spain

Can you imagine a space where dishes from the best Spanish chefs merge, with the latest culinary trends and the most avant-garde furniture design ? And all set in a circus atmosphere decorated by the most prestigious interior designers in Spain? Let us imagine: it was called Millesime and was held in Madrid on 16,17,18 and 19 June in a the multipurpose Hall of a country house.

Under the title The Circus, the architect Héctor Ruiz Velázquez surprised everyone by creating a dreamlike image, shameless in homage to the circus and burlesque world, and where there were some of the latest Actiu developments (Badminton and Wing) used to furnish these spaces and provide them with comfort and warmth. A scenario where, in addition to all the interior design and decoration, participants were treated to a Bo Devil show, combining juggling, contortion, singing and performance arts.

Millesime Madrid is much more than a food hall. In addition to the leading figures from international cuisine, several interior design and design teams who participated in the creation of unprecedented environments, imbued with their own trademark. Interior designers such as Carmen Baselga, Carmen Barasona, María de la Osa, Malu González and the illustrator Jacobo Pérez Enciso were some of the professionals who decorated these independent restaurants.

Actiu was one of the participating companies with two of its most acclaimed pieces from last year: the Badminton, an iconic sofa designed by the studio ITEM Designworks which sought to be different from any space; and the Wing, designed by Ramos & Bassols, awarded so far with two of the most prestigious international awards: the Red Dot and IF Design.

During the four days of June, Millesime brought together a small selection of culinary professionals willing to surprise their visitors. All recognized chefs with Michelin stars, Repsol suns such as Jorge Andres (two Michelin stars and four Repsol suns), the Valencian Restaurant Group "La Sucursal"; Arnau Bosch (one Michelin star and two suns Repsol), Can Bosch and Xosé Torres Cannas (one Michelin star and two suns Repsol), Pepe Vieira. The Mexican Cooks arrived from Mexico to cook for the participants: Diego Hernandez, Heart of the Earth; Guillermo Gonzalez, from Pangea, and José Manuel Baths from Pitiona. In addition, this year, the Mexican cuisine was the main protagonist, with representation of the best chefs from the country.

An exclusive event which aimed to highlight both Spanish cuisine as well as designing spaces and furniture in our country.
