Science going to the street in Street Alicante Science 2012

The greatest event related to Science and Technology in Spain.

Street Alcante Scince (StAS), is a project carried out by Alicante University in collboration with the city Townhall and Council, whose climax and staging took place on 10 and 11 May in the Volvo area of the town. A 'Scientific theme park' unique in Spain, which brought together members from  the current politicians and education of the province, as well as the scientist Santiago Grisolía, Prince of Asturias of Scientific and Technical Investigation Award, and  television media personality 'Man in Black' amongst others, who released a probe into space in a massive crowd.

Two days of hands on practice, exhibits and games which made up a total of 180 activities aimed at university students, scientists and children with the objective to know and unerstand what is science.

Under this framework, Actiu arranged an area which revealed the materials used to manufacture its products, as well as the technology developed by its research and development department, which allows it to manufacturer in an efficient and responsible manner transforming materials such as steel, wood, glass, aluminum or plastic materials.

This initiative reinforces the collaboration of Actiu with investigation and education, positioning science in the reach of the society, university and the company and thus promoting the talent of individuals and collective people.
