ACTIU Berbegal y Formas, S.A.
Showroom Actiu Paris
July 2020 | 3 minutes

A historic six-storey building next to the symbolic Place de la Bastille houses Actiu's new showroom in Paris. The move from its previous location, next to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, to this more central area along the city´s route of architects and designers, brings to life the company's commitment to offering the best possible support to its customers.

Experiential, Mediterranean, healthy and technological, the showroom is conceived as a meeting point for professionals and companies. Thought up in collaboration with the Valencian studio Cosín, its design introduces a concept inspired by new ways of working, designed to create agile, comfortable and safe environments.

The two floors (street level and basement) in which the 450 square meters of the showroom are distributed take visitors on a tour around Actiu´s know-how that enables discovering the working environments and values that Cool Working by Actiu promotes.

As soon as you set foot in the showroom, and where red is the colour of choice, the so-called Red Box recreates a 100% Actiu atmosphere, representing the brand and its passion. The perforated sound-absorbing wall on one side provides the perfect backdrop for an almost theatrical setting, where the iconic Karbon carbon fibre chair and the company logo welcome visitors.

In the heart of the street level space there are two different spaces: a coworking space and a meeting point with a Parisian feel. Equipped with versatile operative environments, which include hot desking spaces, creativity spaces and even a mini office, the former with the blue and earth tones that are typical of the Mediterranean, in reference to the origin of a company that is intimately linked to its roots, the local region and its people.

A colourful part unites and separates the former environment from the Parisian point, an area for socialisation, well-being and positivism, flooded with natural light thanks to the skylight that covers it and through which homage is paid to the so-called 'City of Light'. Dominated by an olive tree that transports the visitor to the Mediterranean patio and Actiu´s La Venta Flores, the space is tinged with green, ochre and earth tones, in a nod to people´s well-being and the LEED and WELL v2 Certifications awarded to Actiu´s Technological Park.

The rest of the rooms on the ground floor are organised around this last space. From an office configuration to a creative or 'lab' space, with sample collections where you can outline projects, or hold a coffee meeting or take a break with natural fruit every day.

The Agile working concept, training and collaboration govern the basement design. Distributed in a large open space with a forum for presentations, VR experiences and workshops, reconfigurable and dynamic Agile and Agile/Soft spaces, and a private collaborative or videoconferencing environment, it brings the visitor closer to new ways of working such as Agile Working, Knowledge-Based Working, Activity-Based Working or Experience-Based Working.

The only enclosed space on this floor is the Black Box, a premium room for showcasing iconic products such as Karbon or Arkitek, with dark and highly detailed finishes that recreate a universe of innovation and design.

The new Parisian showroom is a perfect reflection of Actiu's career: more than 50 years of constant change, manufacturing furniture for workspaces and hospitality environments based on innovation, design, sustainability and user comfort.
