Noise: a bad companion

We are surrounded by noise. It is an unavoidable part of our lives, but it has never been so present, so often. It goes beyond our way of being: new habits and challenges, both in the personal and the professional sphere, makes quiet moments increasingly rare in our daily lives. However, hardly anyone wants noise to be an inseparable companion. So what can we do to reduce its prominence?

This issue highlights acoustic well-being and how noise reduces concentration and performance in professional environments.

A calm environment reduces stress and improves well-being.

Achieving this involves paying attention to aspects such as light, colour, nature, air quality, ergonomics, materials and acoustics. In this document we focus on acoustic wellbeing, an area to which Actiu has been devoting its efforts for years with solutions such as Qyos, conceived as havens of calm in the workplace. Noise, when uncontrolled, reduces concentration and cognitive performance, affecting not only academic or work performance, but also the personal balance of those who suffer from it on a daily basis.

The sound of well-being

Noise affects health, concentration and productivity in offices, schools, hotels and airports. Download our magazine and discover solutions to create quieter and more comfortable environments.

Designing spaces that promote well-being has become a social necessity, especially in recent years. These are places in which people can live, rest and work, where the experience is so valuable that it invites them to return: spaces that care for, welcome and include everyone, with their physical, mental and emotional health in mind. Places that are environmentally responsible, that regenerate rather than damage, and that are built through collaboration between architecture, design and industry.
