Maarlab transforms the tourism model

Target

Maarlab asked the studio led by Vanessa Mora, MARENGO espacios y formas, tocreate a differentiating space that would provide valuable content for the brand, with a capacity for 15 people and that could be expanded to 17. An exclusive premises located in a shopping street in the city centre, originally very compartmentalised, with old installations and little natural light, which the interior designer and her team had to transform into an attractive, multi-purpose space.

The idea was for the venue to accommodate a variety of working dynamics (individual, team, collective, concentrated, expansive...) and to be sensitive to the great diversity of nationalities and cultures of its team.

Solution

To accommodate the great diversity of needs and dynamics of workers, both permanent and temporary or coming from a hybrid model, who come temporarily to Tenerife attracted by the destination and the possibilities of a project like Maarlab, the space is divided into five areas, reserved for the entrance, two open work areas, an area for the exchange of ideas and another for rest and expansion. In addition to the CEO's office, which is closed and located in one of the work areas.

The furniture, the walls and the arrangement of the elements provide a great diversity of shades, colours, textures and shapes, right from the entrance, where a yellow Longo armchair welcomes the visitors under a graphic design with the name of the company. Workers can move freely and choose whether they want to sit at the operative stations equipped with Arkitek tables and Efit chairs, or meet in functional and informal corners, where programmes such as the Prisma and Tabula high tables, the Talent folding table or the Arkitek round side table, the Noom and Wing stools and chairs, or the Caddy 500 mobile panels with integrated video, offer infinite possibilities and allow the configuration to be varied with hardly any effort.

The new space has been the catalyst needed to reawaken in workers and teams the desire to return to working on site, without reducing performance or losing some of the advantages that were achieved with teleworking during the pandemic.
